I was really trying to see Keith Jarrett's point of view throughout all those pages of readings, research and discussion, but the Italy tirade pushed it over the top. That was a really "assholey" thing to do. Jazz musicians having that kind of disdain and disrespect for their fans and audience does not help promote jazz or expand jazz audiences, something that would benefit us all. Plus, as Dr. Porter put it....it's just plain rude! So you win the debate....he's an asshole.....(still a great piano player, though! doesn't mean I have to go to his concerts to be abused! I can listen at home if I choose to.)
